Dr. Ikenna [Ike] Egbuna

Dr. Egbuna was born in New York. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Nigeria. He continued his medical training with an Internship at the Brooklyn Hospital center affiliate of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and completed his Residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Egbuna then went on to complete his fellowship training in gastroenterology at the University of Missouri -Kansas City[UMKC].

Dr. Egbuna has been actively involved in clinical research. His research in Celiac disease, colonoscopy optimization and Gastroparesis have been presented at several national gastroenterology meetings. His research has also been published in leading peer-reviewed gastroenterology journals such as The American Journal of Gastroenterology, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, and Digestive and Liver Diseases.

Prior to starting GastroCare of El Paso, Dr. Egbuna worked with the Indiana University Health System as a Consultant Gastroenterologist.

He has special interests in therapeutic endoscopy, Inflammatory bowel disease, Celiac disease, viral hepatitis and Fatty liver disease.

Dr. Ike is married with two kids. He enjoys travel and cycling.

Danika Davila, FNP-C

Danika Davila is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2019 with her Master’s of Science in Nursing. Danika joined the GastroCare of El Paso family in 2020 as our Nurse Practitioner. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing Degree in 2012 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing. She has 10 years of practice as a registered nurse. She previously worked at The Hospitals of Providence East Campus and Del Sol Medical Center in the Medical/Surgical, Orthopaedic/Trauma and Oncology units. Danika enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Cody. She loves watching football, traveling, being on a boat and spending time outdoors. She was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and is fluent in both English and Spanish. “As an El Paso native, I strive to provide compassionate, high quality, patient-centered care to my community”

Jennifer Cadena, FNP-C

Jennifer is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 10 years of diverse nursing experience working with adults in medical oncology, emergency medicine, and critical care. She completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing through the University of Texas at Arlington. Her undergraduate was completed in her hometown the University of Texas at El Paso.She believes patient care should be holistic and compassionate with emphasis on educating the patient. While building a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and evidenced-based practice.On her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading a good book, outdoor activities, and cooking.
